Pretty and chic girls from Paris, true street style
Street style fashion has become such a big deal globally – that’s a fact. Although, real street outfits that inspire daily styles don’t get to be actually seen. So what do you see?
Most of those images that do get picked up by media, especially from Paris, London, Milan and New York show this huge fashion playground in front of locations where the actual shows take place and where many people just show up overdressed pretending to go to the show but they are usually not invited. What they really are hoping is to get photographed by street style photographer and believe it or not they are not wearing regular daily style clothing.
Many of the people who do get photographed during Paris Fashion Week are international, most likely doing business, either as editors, stylists, designers or fashion buyers – so they do get dressed well, usually in designer clothing that are available worldwide.
What you have to know is that industry people will often be wearing new designer collections prearranged with a designer house promotional departments as a way of guerrilla marketing.
Clothing is sometimes given to influencers like bloggers, stylists, editors… or just borrowed as a promotional activity. If you look at big celebrity events like Golden Globes or Oscar’s you probably won’t find a single celeb owning a dress or a suit they are wearing – in most cases the clothing and especially jewellery are borrowed and will be returned to the designer after the event.
I had this pleasure to be in Paris during Spring/Summer fashion week and was happy to see and photograph these beautiful real street style girls that do reflect what we all like about Parisian chic – stylish but not overdressed.
